Beating myself up

Can you believe I am actually feeling guilty about my lack of artistic output this week. Challenges have come and gone and I have got no further than a cursary thought of what I might create. I feel terrible. I am letting myself down. How ridiculous can you get?

For truth be told, I also feel a little burnt out. I've been working on other projects, focusing on work and family and trying to get enough sleep. I've cleaned the house, dug the garden, cooked and made plans.

I just try too hard sometimes. I am going to have a bath now then spend the remainder of the day on the sofa.

Normal service will hopefully resume again in a few days....

  1. Stop beating yourself up, this instant! Time for a little R & R. Enjoy your dreaming on the sofa, it's required at times! I know these things hehee.

It took my burnout all of...one day before I was back at it*L* I stayed up till 2:30 lasgt night working on a new drawing*L* Enjoy the sofa! Creative overachieverz need a few sofa days on occasion:)

  5. Just do what you feel like, no requirements, maybe just skip challenges for awhile and create art just for your sake. Just play.

  7. Art is like breathing...sometimes we breath out and create art, and sometimes we breathe in to gain inspiration and allow our vision to evolve and expand. Take a deep breath, relax, and allow the creativity to flow through. I understand how family and work can make us feel like we aren't creative, but those are very creative roles for us to fill. Wishing you continued inspiration and joy in just being in the moment :) - Carrie

  9. Time for some refueling ! Maybe a break to let the muses return ? Or some real play where production isn't the focus ? How about a day of just paint splashing or background making ?
Be gentle with yourself, Lovely One.

(ps : I am soooo talking to myself here too!)
    Have a cozy weekend !

  11. There is no reason for beating up yourself, ever! You are pretty busy, and we can't always be highly creatively productive. Sometimes we need a break period. Good for you that you take it (but I do understand your feelings because I'm just like that as well...)

  12. Boy...do we think alike! Times like this appear every now and again and I always find taking a break from it all is the best way to beat it. Sounds like your plan was a good one.

I am putting it down to the weather. I tried blaming it on the moon but I have to wait a few weeks to use that one again :)
