Art strikes back

I am sad and sulky. When I upgraded my pc somehow my iTunes didn't copy across properly and half the songs are missing - sometimes half an album... It's really odd. They are still on the iPod though,  however I can't update my iPod without losing them. Anyone know some good (preferably free) software that lets you rip everything over?  I admit this happened months ago, but this weekend (as part of my getting organised plan), I resolved to fix the issue once and for all, and we reconnected the old pc to attempt once again to get the music over. It spent 2 hours copying empty folders. You have no idea how frustrated I am. The music is THERE on the old pc. I can hear it! Why won't it copy over?

That aside, here's a sketch I did while watching The Empire Strikes Back with my son. Even though he had never seen the movie he knew what was going to happen next from playing the lego game on the Wii. Funny!!

I know I mentioned an art ban earlier this week, while I declutter and organise myself. However, surely a little pencil sketch is allowed... What do you think??? And the odd digital piece....??? I mean I can't totally abandon the creative urge. This doll-like face with big blue eyes was begging to take form in my sketchbook.

For Sunday Sketches. Pop on over to Sophia's pad and see what everyone else has been creating in their sketchbooks!

  3. Oh Lisa, she is gorgeous... love her pretty sweet face... and yes I am sure an art ban could include creative urges :)) Perhaps I need this too cos I am having trouble finding things in my art room :)) Hope you can get your music moved over...

  4. Oh look at that pretty face--she had to come out and make herself known! Sorry I can't help you with the iPod thing--I have a Nano, and I barely know how to turn it on. I have problems with iTunes sometimes too--sometimes I can't get it to download all of the CD no matter what I do (it has a mind of its own)

    Computer glitches suck !
I hope you get the decluttering done quickly ! (How about declutter one corner, create one piece in a journal, declutter another corner, do another piece in the journal...just a thought !)
    Happy Sunday !

  8. i love her eyes, and her tilted pose.
now, i can totally relate to pc issues! ugg, so frustrating....but don't let it get to you -i don't know how to fix it - my kids have to show me how to load my ipod!!!!

i like the de-cluttering idea- it's so liberating to throw away and get rid of stuff, enjoy it!

  9. Wish I could help with the iTunes thing, I am hopeless at that though.

I'm sure you will be able to continue with the organization and still sneak a little art in. You can't have all work and no play, can you? I love this sweet beauty. I can tell she would not be denied and just had to make an appearance. She has that "I WILL get what I want" look about her!

  10. That is a great piece of art :)
ahh I know what you mean about pc and especially new upgraded one. I put in a dvd on mine the other day to get a file and click on the wrong button and reformated aka deleted a ton of illustrations. I could have just cried!

  14. She is so cute! I love her lips and yes her eyes are enchanting!!! You simply cannot abandon your sketching entirely!
Hope you find a solution to the music issue - I-tunes has caused issues on our pc before also.

  15. Oh nooooooooooooooooooooo...that stinks about the iTunes. Check your iTunes settings on your computer and see if there is an option to sync from your iPod. I know that every time my daughter plugs hers into the computer it syncs every video, app, and song so then I have to go back and delete stuff off the computer b/c iTunes is hogging so much memory. I hope that helps.
Your sketch this week is once again, AMAZING. You have such a way with the subtle nuances of the face.

  17. Lisa,
She is beautiful. I know how de-cluttering free's your mind up and allows the creative juices to start flowing again..
When I start de-cluttering, my stuff just tends to get moved around... hummm

  18. Lisa, art is always allowed - maybe just put the big projects on hold while you declutter and organise. I am working on this as well. Your girlie here is SO lovely - I am very glad you created her! Computer problems are a sucky gob of ... It so so frustrating to spend hours of your time and not get anywhere except more frustrated. I hope you can find a solution and get your tunes back!

  19. She's so pretty! Sorry to hear about the PC goblin stealing your music. That's why I'm hesitating on stepping into the decade and letting go of my CDs. I like having something to hold and album art to display.

  21. She's beautiful! No wonder she was begging to emerge. I'm in the process of organizing and decluttering too. It's a draining, yet energizing process! One that I cannot wait until it's done so I can enjoy a fresh, clean space around me. Hope it goes well for you.

  22. I wish I could help with the itunes problem but I am tech challenged! lol I still have to back up my work on my MAC and can barely figure that out. I do know the frustration you are feeling though!

Love your sketch! She is pretty!

    :)

  23. i can see why you had to sketch her! She's so cute! Love those big eyes.

  24. The sketch is allowed. Its a really nice drawing too. When I was doing the de-cluttering thing I would do it for awhile and then take a break. I think that is the way to do it. Take art breaks.

  25. I absolutely love this sketch, Lisa. Wow. Probably one of my favourites by you. LOVE her eyes and ruby red lips. NICE!! :)

  26. Always make time for art! I am on to fluttering the art room of all places starting tomorrow (no really that was the plan, Monday!) I have had the same problems with ipod phone etc - it is itunes that is the problem, I will ask my techy husband and get back to you if he has any advise!

  30. I'm sorry I can't help, I'm a bit of a doofus when it comes to things like that...

....on the other hand, that sketch sure is pretty! What's this I hear of an art ban?!! Dare you say?! I must go read more!

Good for you trying to get organized, though....just thought I'd mention :0)

  31. I think a pencil sketch is more than allowed! It's great to see this beautiful pencil work, and the beautiful Photoshop work you did for the I.A. challenge. This one is so cool toned and blue, especially with her striking eyes, and the golden hues of the other piece were also great. She is quite doll like, and I love her happy and somehow quizzical expression. I hope you get lots organized during your decluttering-- I have to do the same in my room, because it's difficult to make art and work in there right now, so you have inspired me! <3 and lots of luck to you, your sorting stuff out, and your creativity in drawing and digital-art-making, when you can.

  32. Hi Lisa, love the sketch...of course a little sketching is ok. while you de-clutter. I have the same prob with my ipod....so annoying. I haven't synced in about a year....thank you for reminding me I really do need to sort it out... Even my teenager couldn't sort it out...what hope have I...

My four year old grandson has never watched star wars but my son is a huge fan and now lets Jack play with all the star wars paraphernalia we bought him when he was small lol.
